About Blackburn People’s Choir

Blackburn People’s Choir is a friendly, welcoming community choir based in Blackburn, open to anyone who loves singing – no auditions, no experience needed, and no pressure to read music.

Founded to bring people together through music, we are a mixed-voice a cappella (unaccompanied) choir, singing everything from contemporary songs and popular classics to traditional choral music and special themed programmes.

Where are we.

We rehearse weekly in central Blackburn at the Wesley Hall Methodist Church, Feilden Street, Blackburn BB2 1LQ where there is plenty of parking.

We perform regularly across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and the North West.

If you’re searching for a choir in Blackburn, a local singing group or a community choir near you, Blackburn People’s Choir offers a relaxed and supportive environment where people of all ages and backgrounds come together simply for the joy of singing.

A choir for everyone

We believe singing should be accessible to all.  Many of our members join having never sung in a choir before.  What matters is enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to give it a go.

More than just singing

Blackburn People’s Choir is about connection, wellbeing and community.  Singing together improves mental health, builds confidence and creates friendships that extend far beyond rehearsals.  Our choir is proudly inclusive, rooted in the local community and welcoming singers from most parts of Lancashire and beyond.

Performances and projects

We take part in concerts, festivals, community events and collaborations throughout the year, often working with other choirs and musicians across the North West.  Our projects range from informal local performances to large-scale concerts celebrating music, heritage and shared stories.
