Thinking about joining a choir

You’ll be very welcome at Blackburn People’s Choir — no auditions, no pressure, just great singing and good company.

 

We are a friendly, community choir who love singing together, performing locally, and welcoming new voices of all backgrounds and experience levels.

 

You don’t need to read music. 

You don’t need choir experience.

You just need to enjoy singing.

 

Who Can Join?

Anyone aged 18+ who enjoys singing in a relaxed and supportive group.

 

Our members include:

 

  • Complete beginners

  • Returning singers

  • Experienced choir members

  • “Bathroom and car singers” who decided to give it a go

What Happens at Rehearsals?

 

 

Our rehearsals are:

 

  • Friendly and relaxed

  • Well structured and well led

  • Focused on learning by listening and repeating

  • Full of encouragement (and laughter)

 

 

Each rehearsal includes:

 

  • Gentle warm-ups

  • Learning songs step-by-step

  • Singing together in harmony

  • A tea break and chat ☕

 

 

No one is put on the spot.

Most people decide within one or two rehearsals whether it’s for them.

 


 

 

Do I Have to Audition?

No auditions. Ever. We build voices — we don’t judge them.

We keep fees as low as possible to make singing accessible.
